Family & For-Profit Gardening

The provision of access to and resources for small-plot urban vegetable and fruit farming, for the Somali Bantu community, to utilize its agricultural heritage in creating self-sufficiency through both sustenance gardening and for-profit urban farming ventures.

At this juncture, USB has sponsored one of these gardens to be started and it is located outside of Pittsburgh. The hope is for more gardens to be started and grown within the city limits and to be maintained by the Somali Bantu community.
